Wild Country - Friend Set

A long-standing name in trad climbing protection, the Wild Country Friend Sets bring together the latest generation of Wild Country’s double-axle cams. Three configurations are available: sizes 0.4, 0.5 and 0.75; sizes 1, 2 and 3; or a six-piece set spanning sizes 0.4 to 3. Each Friend retains the original 13.75° camming angle, hollow double axles, milled and polished aluminium lobes, thumb loop and extendable sling system.

The main update for 2026 is the new Flow Cord. Its seamless construction replaces the stiffer sewn sling used on the previous model, allowing smoother extension without a rigid bartack catching behind the thumb loop. Each cord extends up to 20 cm to help reduce rope drag and limit walking on wandering pitches. Another new feature is a red wear indicator, which provides a clearer replacement cue, and Wild Country gives the cord a 14-year certified lifespan, comprising up to 10 years of service and four years of storage.

Across all three sets, the 2026 Friends provide consistent handling and familiar colour coding, with the double-axle construction giving good expansion range and overlap between neighbouring sizes.
